Series 412, a 100% polyester wipe knitted from continuous filaments, is a new, lighter cleanroom cleaning wipe for more critical areas, both in microbiological controlled and in only particulate monitored zones. After cutting (laser-cut edges), the wipes are professionally decontaminated in a cleanroom laundry and packaged under ISO class 4 conditions (EN ISO 14644-1). Even though they are made of 100% polyester, the wipes have a decent absorption capacity. The robust polyester knitted fabric shows its strength on rougher surfaces or with sharp-edged objects/surfaces. Due to the cleanroom-compatible decontamination, the wipes have relatively low levels of ionic and metallic contaminants. Other positive properties are a low load of non-volatile residues (NVR) and good chemical resistance.
The wipes of the Series 412 are somewhat lighter than those of the Series 415 and therefore cheaper.
Facts
Polyester
Knit, 100% PES, 135 g/m², laser sealed edges
Properties
- 100% polyester
- knitted fabric made from microfibres
- edges cut and sealed by laser
- low particle and fibre emission
- abrasion resistant
- decontaminated in a cleanroom laundry
- double bag packed in a cleanroom (air cleanliness class ISO 4)
- the sealed outer bag's printing is colourfast and can be wiped with a pre-soaked cleaning wipe (70% IPA/30% DIW)
Advantages
- robust wipe, slightly lighter than series 415
- reduced particle and fibre emission due to the sealed edges
- very wide range of applications
- low ionic and metallic impurities
- validated sterile available
Applications
- cleaning wipe for critical and non-critical areas
- well suited for angular, rough surfaces and objects that might prematurely damage a non-woven fabric wipe
Product recommendation based on cleanroom classes
Of course, cleanroom wipes used in ISO 5 can also be used in ISO 9, but in this case the economic efficiency and usefulness should be considered.
A 1 to 1 allocation of cleanroom wipes to an air cleanliness class according to ISO 14644-1 is not possible. Recommendations can only be made on the basis of special properties relevant from a cleanroom technical point of view, such as "abrasion resistance" or "particle emission". Users can find further information on this in VDI Guideline 2083 Part 9.2.
